Jan Blom |
Dr. Jan C. Blom is Director General of the Social Sciences Group (SSG) of Wageningen UR. LEI and the Department of Social Sciences of Wageningen University work together under this flag. Jan Blom got his master's degree at the University of Amsterdam, majoring in macro economics, industrial economics and agricultural economics. His PhD thesis focused on commodity market modelling, more specifically on the European cereal and concentrated feed market. During that period he worked for LEI and got his degree at Wageningen University. He fulfilled several management positions within LEI and later on for SSG.

Loek Boonekamp |

After finalising a master’s degree in economics at the University of Tilburg, Loek Boonekamp started his career in 1972 with the Dutch Ministry for Agriculture. In 1977 he started as an economist with the OECD Directorate for Agriculture. Now, he is Head of the Agri-food Trade and Markets division in the OECD’s Directorate for Trade and Agriculture. In this function he has overall responsibility for a broad programme of work in the field of food and agricultural commodities, covering medium projections, market and policy issues, trade policy reform, changes in the food economy and most recently the market and trade impacts of increased production and use of bioenergy. |

Tom Hertel |
| Professor Hertel conducts research and teaching in the economy-wide analysis of trade and environmental policies. He is also Executive Director and founder of the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP). This Project maintains a global economic data base and an applied general equilibrium modeling framework which are documented in the book. Professor Hertel has published many journal articles. Dr. Hertel was visiting scholar with the Trade Research Group of the World Bank in 2004/5 during which time he coordinated a project on the poverty impacts of a prospective WTO agreement under the Doha Development Agenda. Dr. Hertel is currently on the editorial board of the Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, the Journal of Economic Integration and the Pacific Economic Review. In the past he has served as a consultant to the World Bank, the OECD, the European Commission, UNDP, the Food and Agriculture Organization, the Ford Foundation, and the Australian Productivity Commission. |

Bruce Lee |

Bruce Lee is director of the Food Futures Flagship program in Australia. Dr Lee has extensive experience in the food sector, particularly in the translation of research into practical agriculture from the farm to manufacturing industries. Dr Lee’s early scientific research career focussed on gene expression in cereals. Prior to joining CSIRO, Dr Lee held the position of head of biotechnology licensing for Syngenta, a Swiss-based multinational agribusiness company. Before leading licensing at Syngenta, Dr Lee worked with Ciba-Geigy and Novartis, based in Basel Switzerland. Dr Lee has been awarded a Bachelor of Science from the University of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Stuttgart, Germany. |

Arjen van Witteloostuijn |
| Arjen Van Witteloostuijn is professor at the University of Antwerp since Oktober 2006. He was formerly professor at the University of Groningen and at the Durham Business School, and Dean of the Department of Economics and Business Administration at the University of Maastricht. He is also member of the Council of Economic Advisors of Dutch parliament. The Council of Economic Advisors deals with the government budget, but also innovation and economic growth, bureaucracy and regulation. |

Kees Jacobs |
| Kees Jacobs is a Principal Consultant in the Consumer Products and Retail Global Sector at Capgemini and is the Global Lead for Global Commerce Initiative (GCI) activities. He is co-author of the joint Capgemini/GCI report ‘2016, The Future Value Chain’, which has been developed with leading executives in the Consumer Products and Retail industry. This report defines a unique vision of the total value chain for consumer goods from manufacture to consumption. Key to that vision is improved collaboration between retailers and consumer product manufacturers. In this context Kees is working with many leading international retailers and manufacturers in the area of their B2B collaboration. |

Irma Keijzer |

Ms. Irma Keijzer, sr. trade policy advisor, Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. Ms. Irma Keijzer is an economist (Erasmus University of Rotterdam) and certified financial analyst, working as a policy advisor for the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs since 1992 in the area of international trade, investment and finance. Her portfolios inter alia included the work of the OECD Trade Committee, export finance, agricultural and development issues in the WTO, sustainability and policy coherence.

Barbara Fliess |

Barbara Fliess has been with the Trade and Agriculture Directorate of the Paris-based Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) since 1995. She has been responsible for the programme of work on non-tariff barriers (NTBs) to trade in goods, including standards and technical regulations, and coordinated the Directorate’s contributions, from a trade perspective, to OECD’s work on corporate responsibility. Prior to OECD, she worked in the private sector and for a think tank linked to the German government. Mrs. Fliess holds a doctor degree from the University of Geneva (l'Institut universitaire de hautes études internationales). |

Janice Vansickle |

Janice Vansickle and the Branding Management Team at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) have been working in close collaboration with provincial and industry stakeholders to develop a Canada Brand for the food and agriculture sector. This initiative was launched under the five-year Canadian Agriculture Policy Framework (APF). Key to the development and delivery of the branding strategy was the establishment of national sectoral value chain roundtables with a mandate of developing long-term strategies for success. As Executive Director of Branding Management at AAFC, Janice is responsible for the Value Chain Roundtable Secretariat, which works to ensure linkages across tables. Before moving into the marketing side of the food and agriculture business, Janice was head of departmental communications, drawing on her many years of experience as a journalist. |

Laure Souliac |
| Laure Souliac is head of the office in charge of food policy, biotechnologies and chemical contaminants at the General Directorate for Food at the French Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries for 2 years. She has worked in the ministry ever since her study, among other things in the Wine Office and in the field of pesticides residues in food and in environment. |

Dr. Rainer Gießübel is head of the Planning and Strategy Division at the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. He is current involved in the advancement of agricultural policy and in consumer policy. Mister Gießübel obtained both his Masters degree and his PhD degree at the university of Gießen. |
