This workshop discusses the implications of societal concerns and supply chain developments in general for the international policy framework. The presenters discuss what role sustainability plays and should play in international trade and investments and in the underlying international policy framework (WTO, Codex, OIE). The workshop identifies the role governments may have in making international trade and foreign investments sustainable. The implications of sustainable trade for developed and developing countries are discussed.
